Many tools have configuration options that customize their behavior. This article explains how to access and modify tool settings.
Accessing Tool Configuration
- Go to AI Config > Tools
- Find the tool you want to configure
- Click the Configure button on the tool card The tool configuration modal opens.
Configuration Modal
The modal displays all available settings for the tool:
- Toggle switches for feature flags
- Text fields for URLs, names, messages
- Phone number fields with validation
- Dropdown selects for mode choices
Required vs. Optional Fields
Required Fields
- Marked with an asterisk (*)
- Must be filled before saving
- The save button is disabled until complete
Optional Fields
- Can be left empty
- Have default values when applicable
Field Validation
The system validates your input:
- URLs — Must be valid http:// or https:// addresses
- Phone numbers — Must be valid format with country code
- Required fields — Cannot be empty Invalid entries show error messages.
Saving Configuration
- Fill in all required fields
- Adjust optional settings as needed
- Click Save Changes are stored but not live until published.
Conditional Fields
Some fields appear based on other selections:
- Choosing certain modes reveals additional options
- Enabling features may show related settings
- The interface updates dynamically
Viewing Current Configuration
To see how a tool is currently configured:
- Click the Configure button
- Review all field values
- Close without saving to keep current settings
