How Long After a Call Recordings Appear

After an AI call ends, there is a brief processing delay before the recording, transcript, and summary appear in your dashboard. Here's what to expect and why.

The delay after a call

Recordings and transcripts do not appear in the dashboard at the instant a call ends. The audio needs to be processed and transcribed, which takes a short amount of time.

For most calls, you should expect to see the recording and transcript in your dashboard within a few minutes of the call ending. Longer calls naturally take slightly longer to process.

What appears first?

The call itself typically appears in the Conversations list very quickly โ€” you may see the call record (with date, time, duration, and status) before the recording or full transcript is available. When you open a call that's still being processed, you may see:

  • A basic summary being generated.
  • The audio player not yet appearing (recording still being processed).
  • The transcription tab showing a loading or processing state.

Refresh the page or the conversation detail after a few minutes if you need to access the recording or transcript.

If a recording doesn't appear

If a call has been over for more than 15โ€“30 minutes and no recording is visible, there are a few possible explanations:

  • Call was very short: Very brief calls (under a few seconds) may not produce a usable recording.
  • Call failed before connection: If the call didn't properly connect to the AI, no recording would be captured.
  • Processing delay: In unusual cases, recordings may take longer to process.

How long recordings are retained

Speako retains recordings in your dashboard for the duration of your subscription. Cancelling your subscription may affect access to historical recordings. If you need to keep recordings long-term, download them while your account is active.
