Import content from your website or other public pages directly into your knowledge base.
How URL Import Works
URL import fetches content from a web page and extracts the text for your knowledge base. It's useful when:
- You have content on your website
- Information exists on public pages
- You want to sync online content
Importing from a URL
- Go to AI Config > Knowledge
- Find the knowledge category
- Click Add from URL
- Enter the full URL (including https://)
- Click Submit
- Wait for processing
URL Requirements
- Must be a public, accessible URL
- Must start with http:// or https://
- Page content must be text-based (not images)
What Gets Imported
The import process:
- Fetches the page content
- Extracts readable text
- Removes navigation, ads, and non-content elements
- Formats for your knowledge base
After Import
Once import completes:
- Review the extracted content
- Edit if needed (some formatting may change)
- Remove any unwanted content
- Publish when ready
Best Pages for Import
Good candidates for URL import:
- About us pages
- Service description pages
- FAQ pages
- Policy pages
- Team/staff pages
Limitations
URL import may not work well for:
- Pages requiring login
- Content loaded via JavaScript
- Image-heavy pages
- PDF files (use file upload instead)
Keeping Content Current
If the source page changes:
- Re-import from the URL
- Or manually update the text Imported content doesn't automatically sync with the source.
