Upload existing documents to quickly populate your knowledge base. This article explains the document upload process.
Supported File Types
Speako accepts these document formats:

Maximum file size: 8MB per file
Uploading a Document
- Go to AI Config > Knowledge
- Find the knowledge category
- Click Upload File
- Select your document
- Wait for processing to complete
Processing Your Document
After upload, Speako:
- Validates the file type and size
- Extracts text content from the document
- Processes the content for your knowledge base
- Stores the information ready for publishing A progress indicator shows the current status.

Once processing completes:
- Content appears in the knowledge card
- You can edit if needed
- Publish to make it available to your agent
Troubleshooting Uploads
File Won't Upload
- Check file size (max 8MB)
- Verify file format is supported
- Try a different browser
Processing Fails
- Document may be corrupted
- Content may be in unsupported format (scanned images)
- Try converting to a different format
Content Looks Wrong
- Review and edit after upload
- Some formatting may not transfer perfectly
- Adjust as needed in the text editor
