Sending a Google Maps Link
Your AI receptionist can text a Google Maps link to callers who ask for directions or need help finding your business. This is handled by the Send Maps Link AI tool.
What it does
When a caller asks "How do I get there?" or "What's your address?" or similar, the AI can both verbally state your address and offer to send a Google Maps link by SMS. Clicking the link takes the caller directly to your business location on Google Maps.
How to configure it
- Go to AI Receptionists → [Your AI] → AI Tools.
- Find the Send Maps Link or Send Google Maps Link tool.
- Toggle it on.
- In the configuration, enter your Google Maps URL (the link to your business on Google Maps).
- Publish the AI.
To find your Google Maps link:
- Search for your business on Google Maps.
- Click "Share" and copy the link.
- Paste this into the AI tool configuration.
When the AI sends it
The AI sends the maps link when:
- A caller asks for directions or how to find you.
- The AI has just given the address verbally and offers a digital link as a follow-up.
- The caller explicitly asks to receive the location link.
Why this is useful
Giving someone a physical address verbally is fine, but many people need more. A Google Maps link is more actionable — callers can tap it to open navigation on their phone immediately.
This is particularly valuable for:
- First-time customers who haven't been to your venue before.
- Callers who are already driving and need navigation.
💡 Tip: Enable this tool even if your location is easy to find. It removes friction for customers and shows that your business uses every opportunity to make the experience helpful. It also reduces repeat calls asking for directions.
⚠️ Important: Make sure the Google Maps link you configure is correct and points to your actual business listing, not just a general map of the area. Test the link on a mobile phone before publishing.
