Setting Your Primary Language

Configure the main language your AI agent speaks to callers.

Overview

The primary language determines:

  • Which language your AI agent speaks by default
  • Which voice accent is used
  • How greetings are displayed and translated

Accessing Language Settings

  1. Navigate to Agent Settings > Voice & Languages
  2. Locate the Primary Language section at the top of the page

Selecting Your Primary Language

  1. Click the language dropdown

  2. Browse available languages - they display with:

    • Native language names (e.g., "日本語", "中文", "हिन्दी")

    • Country flags for easy recognition

  3. Select your preferred language

  4. Click Save Changes

What Happens When You Change Languages

When you select a new primary language and save:

  1. Voice Selection - A voice matching the new language is automatically selected (if available)
  2. Greeting Translation - All greetings are automatically translated to the new language
  3. Language Config - The primary language is updated across all language settings

💡 Note: Automatic greeting translation ensures your AI voice speaks naturally in its assigned language. This prevents the awkward situation of a voice speaking text in a different language than its native accent.
