Tracking Publish Progress
When you publish your AI receptionist, the dashboard shows a publishing modal that tracks the progress of the operation. Here's what each state means and how to interpret what you see.
The publishing modal
When you click Publish on any AI configuration page, a modal opens and stays visible until the publish completes (or you dismiss it). The modal shows the current state:
Submitting… The dashboard has sent your request to be processed. This is brief — usually a few seconds.
Publishing… (Syncing your AI agent settings) The background system is processing your changes and pushing them to the live AI. This is the longest phase. A spinning indicator shows the job is active.
Published Successfully! (Your changes are now live) The publish completed successfully. Your AI is now live with the updated configuration. You can close the modal.
Taking Longer Than Expected (The publish is still in progress) The job is taking more time than usual. This isn't an error — it means the background process is still running. You can:
- Click Wait more to continue waiting in the modal.
- Click Dismiss to close the modal and continue working. The publish continues in the background.
Failed The publish encountered an error. See When a Publish Fails for what to do.
Notifications for publish completion
If you dismiss the modal before the publish finishes, you'll receive a notification in the Notification Center (under the System category) when the publish completes — whether successfully or with an error.
Check Dashboard → Notifications → System if you dismissed the modal and want to confirm whether the publish succeeded.
What the modal doesn't show
The publishing modal doesn't show a specific percentage or step-by-step breakdown of what's being processed. It shows the overall state. For a detailed view of what changed, check the notification or review your AI configuration after the publish completes.
💡 Tip: Don't navigate away from the page immediately after clicking Publish. Waiting for the Published Successfully! confirmation takes less than two minutes in most cases, and gives you immediate certainty that the changes are live.
