Voice minutes are the currency of your AI phone agent. Here's a deeper look at how they work.
How Voice Minutes Are Tracked
The system tracks every second of call time:
- A call begins when your AI agent answers
- Time is tracked continuously during the conversation
- The call ends when either party hangs up
- Total seconds are converted to minutes Example: A call lasting 1 minute and 45 seconds uses 1.75 minutes.
Minute Sources
You can have voice minutes from two sources:
Plan Minutes
- Included with your subscription
- Reset at the start of each billing period
- Used first before extra minutes
Extra Minutes
- Purchased separately
- Don't reset with billing periods
- Used after plan minutes are depleted
Minute Consumption Order
When you make calls:
- Plan minutes are consumed first
- Once plan minutes are exhausted, extra minutes are used
- When both are depleted, service is paused
Viewing Your Minutes
Check your current balance on the billing page:
- Usage Overview Card: Shows plan minutes used vs. included
- Extra Minutes Card: Shows purchased extra minutes available
Minutes and Call Quality
Voice minutes measure duration only. They don't affect:
- AI response quality
- Voice clarity
- Feature availability
- Call handling capabilities All calls receive the same high-quality AI service regardless of your remaining minutes.
