Setting a Primary Email
Your primary email is the main address associated with your Speako account. It's the one Speako uses for account communications and notifications, and the one other team members see when they view your profile.
Where to find it
Go to Dashboard → Settings → Profile (Account Settings). In the Email Management card, your primary email is marked with a Primary badge and a crown icon.
Changing your primary email
Before you can set a new primary email, you need to have at least two verified email addresses on your account. You cannot set an unverified email as primary.
To change your primary:
- Add and verify the email address you want to make primary (if you haven't already). See Adding and Managing Email Addresses.
- In the Email Management card, find the verified email you want to make primary.
- Click Make primary (the action may appear as a button or icon on that row).
- The new email is promoted to primary, and the old one becomes a secondary address.
What happens after changing primary email
- Speako will use the new primary email for account-related notifications.
- If you log in with email/password, either email can be used to sign in.
- Other team members who can see your profile will see the updated primary email.
Can I remove my primary email?
Not directly. To remove the current primary email:
- First, set another verified email as primary.
- Then remove the old email using the delete option.
⚠️ Important: Make sure your primary email is an inbox you actively monitor. Account notifications — including billing alerts and security warnings — are sent to this address. If it's an email you rarely check, you may miss important messages.
💡 Tip: If you've changed jobs or changed email providers, update your primary email promptly. This prevents notifications going to an old inbox and ensures you can recover your account if needed.
