Some businesses close on certain days of the week. This article explains how to mark days as closed in your regular schedule.
Setting a Regular Closing Day
If your business is closed on a specific day every week (like Sunday):
- Navigate to Availabilities > Schedules
- Find the day you want to close
- Remove all time slots from that day
- The day shows as having no hours configured When a day has no time slots, it's effectively closed for bookings.
Closed vs No Configuration
There's an important distinction:
- Day with no slots = Closed for the week
- Day never configured = Will inherit location defaults if you're at the staff level For location-level schedules, removing all slots closes that day. For staff-level schedules, having no configuration means they follow location hours.
Common Closing Day Patterns
Single Day Closed
Many businesses close one day per week:
- Restaurants often close Monday
- Hair salons may close Sunday and Monday
- Service businesses may close weekends
Multiple Days Closed
Some businesses operate limited schedules:
- Open Tuesday through Saturday only
- Weekday-only operation (closed Saturday and Sunday)
- Three-day weekends (closed Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Seasonal Closures
For recurring seasonal patterns (like reduced winter hours), consider using date-specific hours instead of changing your regular schedule.
Removing Time Slots
To close a previously open day:
- Click on each time slot for that day
- Click the Delete button on each slot
- Confirm the deletion
- Repeat for all slots on that day Once all slots are removed, the day is closed.
Reopening a Closed Day
To make a closed day available again:
- Navigate to the closed day
- Click the + button to add a new time slot
- Configure the hours as needed
- Save your changes
Temporary Closures
For one-time closures (not recurring every week), use date-specific hours instead:
- Navigate to Availabilities > Date-specific hours
- Select the specific date
- Mark it as closed This keeps your regular weekly schedule intact.
Holiday Closures
For national holidays, use the Holidays feature:
- Navigate to Availabilities > Holidays
- Enable the relevant holidays
- The system automatically handles these closures See Managing Your Holiday Calendar for details.
Best Practices
- Be consistent — If you're closed Sundays, keep it that way unless business needs change
- Update promptly — If your closing day changes, update immediately to avoid missed bookings
- Use the right method — Regular closures go in weekly schedule; one-time closures go in date-specific hours
- Communicate changes — Let customers know if you're changing regular hours
