The master toggle lets you enable or disable all holidays simultaneously. This article explains how to use this feature for quick holiday configuration.

The Master Toggle

At the top of the Holidays tab, you'll find a master toggle that controls all holidays at once. This is useful when you want to:

  • Enable all holidays quickly (close for all national holidays)
  • Disable all holidays (stay open for all holidays)
  • Reset to a baseline before configuring individually

Enabling All Holidays

To close for all national holidays:

  1. Navigate to Availabilities > Holidays
  2. Toggle the master switch to On
  3. All individual holidays switch to enabled
  4. Changes save automatically This is useful for businesses that observe all national holidays.

Disabling All Holidays

To stay open for all holidays (as your default):

  1. Navigate to Availabilities > Holidays
  2. Toggle the master switch to Off
  3. All individual holidays switch to disabled
  4. Changes save automatically This is useful for businesses that rarely close for holidays.

Using Master Toggle as a Starting Point

A common workflow:

  1. Toggle all on — Start by closing for all holidays

  2. Disable specific ones — Turn off holidays you'll be open

  3. Result — Most holidays closed, with exceptions Or the reverse:

  4. Toggle all off — Start by staying open for all holidays

  5. Enable specific ones — Turn on holidays you'll close

  6. Result — Open most holidays, closed for selected ones

Business Type Recommendations

Retail Businesses

Consider: Enable all, then disable minor holidays

  • Keep enabled: Major holidays (Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year's)
  • Disable: Minor holidays where you'll stay open for sales

Restaurants

Consider: Enable selectively

  • Enable: Christmas Day, possibly New Year's Day
  • Disable: Most other holidays (often your busiest days)

Professional Services

Consider: Enable all or most

  • Enable: All national and government holidays
  • Possibly disable: Half-day holidays where you work mornings

Healthcare/Essential Services

Consider: Disable most or all

  • Disable: Most holidays (you need to stay available)
  • Enable: Only major holidays with coverage arrangements

When the Master Toggle Updates

The master toggle reflects the current state:

  • On — When all holidays are enabled
  • Off — When all holidays are disabled
  • Partial — May appear neutral when some are on, some off After toggling master, individual toggles update to match.

Combining with Date-Specific Hours

After using the master toggle:

  1. Some holidays might need special hours instead of closure
  2. Disable those specific holidays
  3. Add date-specific overrides with your holiday hours
  4. This gives you closures for most, special hours for some

Quick Reset Workflow

To reset and reconfigure:

  1. Use master toggle to set all to your default (on or off)
  2. Go through the list and toggle exceptions
  3. Check date-specific hours for holidays with modified hours
  4. Review before each holiday season

Best Practices

  1. Start with your most common case — If you close for most holidays, start with all enabled
  2. Configure once, review periodically — Settings persist year to year
  3. Check before major periods — Review settings before December, summer, etc.
  4. Combine with date-specific hours — For holidays where you have special hours
