Adding or Updating a Payment Method

To keep your subscription active and purchase top-up minute packages, you need a valid payment method on file. You can add or update your payment details from the Billing page.

Where to find it

Go to Dashboard → Billing. Look for the Subscription or Payment Method card. It shows your linked payment method and includes a Manage button.

Updating your payment method

  1. Go to the Billing page.
  2. In the Payment Method/Subscription card, click Manage (or a similar button labelled with a link icon).
  3. This opens a secure payment portal (provided by Stripe) in a new browser tab.
  4. In the portal, you can:
    • Add a new card
    • Update an existing card's details
    • Remove a card and add a different one
    • View your subscription status

The payment portal

The payment management portal is provided by Stripe — a major payment processor. Your card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure page and are never stored on Speako's servers. The portal is secure and encrypted.

⚠️ Important: The portal opens in a new browser tab. If it doesn't open, check that your browser isn't blocking pop-ups from the Speako domain.

When to update your payment method

Update your payment method when:

  • Your current card is expiring (you'll receive a billing notification).
  • A payment has failed due to an expired or declined card.
  • You want to use a different card for your Speako subscription.

What happens if your card fails?

If a payment attempt fails (e.g. expired card, insufficient funds), your subscription status changes. Speako will attempt to retry the payment automatically. If it continues to fail, service may be affected.

Update your payment method as soon as you receive a failed payment notification to prevent disruption.

See Failed Payment: What to Do for the full steps.

💡 Tip: Keep your card expiry date noted — when your card is due to expire, update Speako's payment method before the expiry date, not after a failed payment. This avoids any service interruption.
