The setup wizard creates the foundation of your Speako workspace. It collects the business, location, and AI assistant details Speako needs before the dashboard can be useful.

Complete the wizard carefully. Choices made here affect the first location, the dashboard sections you see, the Setup Guide tasks Speako shows, and the starting configuration for your AI Agent.

What the setup wizard asks for

The onboarding flow is grouped into three chapters:

Chapter What you configure
Business Business category, subtype, and business name
Location First location name, country, state when required, and timezone when needed
AI assistant AI Agent phone number selection and final review

Some steps depend on the country you choose. For example, the state step is required only when states are available for that country, and the timezone step can be skipped automatically when there is only one timezone.

Move through the wizard in order

The wizard only lets you continue when the current step has the required information. This prevents the workspace from being created without important setup details.

The required setup includes:

  • a selected category
  • a selected subtype
  • a business name
  • a location name
  • a country
  • a state when the chosen country requires one
  • a timezone when there is more than one option
  • a selected AI Agent phone number
  • a final review state that is ready to submit

⚠️ Important: Take your time with the wizard. It sets up your workspace and first location — getting it right means less clean-up later.

What Speako creates after submission

When you submit the wizard, Speako creates the core setup for your workspace and first location. This includes the AI phone number you selected, your booking page, default statuses, business info, greetings, voice and personality settings, AI tools, and initial tracking.

For supported business types, Speako may also add starter operational data — tables and table management setup for restaurants, or services, staff, and availability for service businesses.

What to review after setup

After the wizard finishes, continue into the dashboard and review the Setup Guide. The wizard gets the workspace started, but the business is not ready for customers until the operational details are checked.

Review:

  • business info and contact details
  • first location details and timezone
  • booking availability
  • staff and services, or tables and seating
  • AI Agent greetings, personality, voice, tools, and knowledge
  • online booking setup
  • test-call readiness

If something looks wrong

If the dashboard shows the wrong location type or the wrong starter resources, check the business type, category, and subtype choices first. Those choices drive much of the initial configuration.

For multi-location businesses, remember that the setup wizard creates the first location. Additional locations should be reviewed separately after they are added.
