Your first location is the starting point for most day-to-day setup in Speako. Bookings, availability, phone setup, online booking, and many AI Agent settings are tied to the selected location.

During onboarding, Speako creates the first location from the details you provide in the setup wizard.

What Speako asks for

The location part of onboarding asks for:

  • location name
  • country
  • state, when the selected country has states available
  • timezone, when there is more than one timezone option

The wizard may use your business name as context when asking for the location name, but the location should be named in a way your team can recognise later.

Why location details matter

Location details are not only for display. They affect how the dashboard and AI Agent understand the business.

The timezone is especially important because booking availability and customer interactions need to be interpreted in the correct local time. If your business has multiple locations in different regions, each location should be checked separately.

💡 Tip: Use a location name that will still make sense when you add more locations later, such as the suburb, branch name, or trading name customers know.

What is connected to a location

Many Speako areas are location-scoped. When you switch locations, you may be editing a different set of operational details.

Location-scoped areas include:

  • bookings
  • customer-related work
  • staff and services for service businesses
  • tables and floor plans for restaurants
  • AI Agent phone, greetings, voice, tools, and knowledge
  • service settings such as Voice AI and online booking

Billing is not treated the same way as location-scoped operational setup.

After the first location is created

Use the Setup Guide to complete the rest of the location setup. The key tasks include configuring location details, booking availability, booking resources or tables, AI Agent settings, AI tools, knowledge, a test call, and the online booking page.

Do not assume the first location is customer-ready immediately after onboarding. Starter data may exist, but it needs review.

If you have more than one location

Each location should be configured and checked on its own. Before editing bookings, AI Agent behaviour, or online booking settings, confirm that the correct location is selected in the dashboard.
