Speako can create starter data during onboarding so your workspace is not blank. The exact starter data depends on the business type and subtype you choose.
Starter data gives you a starting point to work from. It is not a finished setup — you should always review and update it before customers interact with your booking page or AI Agent.
Common starter setup
During onboarding, Speako can create the core setup needed for the first workspace and location:
- your workspace and owner access
- first location
- booking page
- default booking and service statuses
- AI phone number assignment, when available
- business information such as tagline, description, and philosophy
- greeting templates
- personality and voice settings
- AI tools for supported restaurant or service locations
- initial dashboard activity tracking
These are the building blocks that connect the dashboard, online booking page, and AI Agent setup.
Restaurant starter data
For restaurant locations, Speako can also set up availability slots, zone tags, tables, a default floor plan named Main Area, and table status tags including Arrived, Seated, Completed, and No Show.
This helps a restaurant workspace start with a recognisable table-management structure. You still need to check capacity, layout, table names, and availability before customers rely on it.
Service-business starter data
For service businesses, Speako can also set up service categories, services, job title tags, staff members, staff availability, staff-to-service links, and the In Session status tag.
This helps appointment-based businesses start with staff and service resources. You still need to confirm names, durations, availability, and whether each staff member should offer each service.
⚠️ Warning: Starter data is not a finished configuration. Review hours, staff, services, prices, tables, and AI knowledge before going live.
Why starter data affects the AI Agent
The AI Agent uses configured business and location information when handling supported caller requests. If starter data is incomplete, outdated, or not a good fit for your business, the agent may not have the right context.
Do not rely on starter data for policies, pricing, service details, table rules, or booking expectations unless you have reviewed it in the dashboard.
What to check first
After onboarding, review the Setup Guide and inspect the most customer-facing data:
- business name, address, and contact details
- location timezone and availability
- services, categories, staff, and staff availability
- tables, zones, and floor plan for restaurants
- AI Agent greetings, voice, personality, tools, and knowledge
- online booking readiness
The best use of starter data is to save setup time, not to replace review.
