Notification Types (Billing, Booking, System, Usage)
Speako sends several types of notifications to keep you informed about activity on your account. Each notification has a type label that tells you what category it belongs to.
Billing
Billing notifications relate to your subscription and payment activity. You might receive a billing notification when:
- Your subscription renews or a payment is processed.
- A payment method expires or a payment fails.
- Your plan is upgraded or downgraded.
- A trial period is ending or has ended.
These are among the most important notifications to read promptly โ a failed payment can affect your access to Speako features.
Booking
Booking notifications are triggered by activity in your booking calendar. These include:
- A new booking was created (via Voice AI, online, or by a dashboard team member).
- A booking was modified or cancelled.
- Other booking-related events your business should be aware of.
๐ก Tip: If you rely on in-dashboard notifications for booking awareness (rather than email), keep the Notification Center accessible during business hours and check it regularly.
System
System notifications cover operational events and configuration updates for your Speako account. These might include:
- AI agent publish events (your agent configuration has been updated and pushed live).
- Changes to settings that affect your service.
- Account-level events that require your attention.
Maintenance
Maintenance notifications inform you of scheduled maintenance, planned downtime, or service interruptions that may affect your dashboard or AI's availability. Check these to plan around any expected disruption.
News (Marketing)
News notifications (shown as "News" in the filter tab) contain product announcements, feature releases, and updates from Speako. These are informational and don't require action โ but they're worth reading to stay up to date with new capabilities.
Usage
Usage notifications are triggered when your account reaches certain thresholds โ most commonly for voice minutes:
- When your balance is getting low.
- When you've used a significant percentage of your monthly allowance.
- When your balance is critically low and service may be impacted.
โ ๏ธ Important: Don't ignore Usage notifications. Running out of voice minutes means the AI receptionist may stop answering calls until you top up. Set up a minute package or upgrade your plan if you receive repeated usage warnings.
Filtering by type
On the Notifications page, use the tab bar at the top to show only notifications of a specific type. Tabs available: All, Billing, Booking, System, Maintenance, News, Usage.
