Owner, Admin, and Member Roles

Speako uses three roles to control what different team members can do on the dashboard: Owner, Admin, and Member. Each role has a different level of access.

Owner

The Owner is the primary account holder — typically the person who created the Speako account. Every business has exactly one Owner.

Owners can do everything on the dashboard, including:

• Edit business name and info
• Manage bookings and scheduling
• Configure the AI agent
• Invite and remove dashboard team members (exclusive to Owners)
• Change team member roles (exclusive to Owners)
• Manage billing and subscription

The Owner role cannot be transferred through the dashboard — only one Owner exists per business account.

Admin

Admins have broad access to the dashboard, but cannot manage who else has access.

Admins can:

• Edit business name and info
• Manage bookings and scheduling
• Configure the AI agent

Admins cannot:

• Invite or remove team members
• Change another member's role

💡 Tip: Assign Admin to trusted managers who need full operational access to the dashboard but shouldn't have control over who else can log in.

Member

Members have access to the operational parts of the dashboard but cannot edit business details.

Members can:

• Manage bookings and scheduling
• Configure the AI agent

Members cannot:

• Edit business name or info
• Invite or remove team members

💡 Tip: Assign Member to front-of-house staff who need to view or manage bookings, but who shouldn't be editing business information or AI settings.

Your own role badge

In the Team Members list, your own account is marked with a You badge next to your name. The role (Owner, Admin, or Member) is displayed as a separate badge.
