Removing or Revoking Access

When a team member leaves your business or no longer needs dashboard access, you can remove them from your team or revoke a pending invitation they haven't yet accepted.

Who can remove team members

Only the Owner can remove team members. Admins and Members do not have this capability.

Removing an active team member

  1. Go to Settings → Team Members.
  2. Find the team member you want to remove.
  3. Click the remove (trash) icon on their row.
  4. Confirm the action.

The team member is removed immediately. A confirmation toast shows: The team member has been removed from your organisation.

Once removed, that person can no longer log in and access your business dashboard. They are not deleted from Speako entirely — they may still have a personal Speako account — but they lose access to your business.

Revoking a pending invitation

If you sent an invitation to the wrong email address, or the person no longer needs access before they've accepted:

  1. Go to Settings → Team Members.
  2. Find the pending invitation in the list (marked with a "Pending" badge or similar status).
  3. Click the revoke icon on that row.

The invitation is cancelled. If the person tries to use the invitation link after it's been revoked, they'll be unable to join.

Can you remove the Owner?

No. The Owner cannot be removed from the team. There is always exactly one Owner per business, and the remove option is not available for the Owner row.

Can you remove yourself?

No. You cannot remove your own account from the team members page. If you need to leave a business, contact the Owner and ask them to remove you.

What happens to the removed person's data?

Removing a team member does not delete any bookings, customer records, or other data they created. They lose login access, but all business data remains intact.

⚠️ Important: Revoked access takes effect immediately. If the person is currently logged in when you remove them, their active session may remain valid briefly, but they won't be able to access the dashboard on their next page load. For urgent situations, contact Speako support.

💡 Tip: Review your team member list periodically and remove anyone who no longer works with your business. This is good security hygiene — former employees should not retain access to customer data or booking systems.
