Writing Your Booking Page Description

The booking page description is a text field that tells customers about your business when they arrive at your online booking page. A good description helps customers feel confident they're in the right place, and can answer common questions before they even start booking.

Where to find it

Go to Booking Page → Business Details for your AI receptionist. The Business Details tab contains:

  • Shop Address — the physical address shown on the booking page.
  • Shop Description — a free-text description of your business.
  • Google Maps Link — a link customers can use to find directions to your location.

What to write

Think of the description as a short introduction to your business — similar to what you might say if a new customer asked "tell me about your place."

A useful booking page description typically covers:

  • What type of business you are (cuisine, service type, specialty)
  • What customers can expect from the experience
  • Any helpful practical information (parking, ambiance, accessibility, etc.)
  • How far in advance customers should book (if relevant)

Aim for 2–5 sentences. You want to inform, not overwhelm — customers are here to book, not to read a wall of text.

How to add or edit the description

  1. Go to Booking Page → Business Details.
  2. Click into the Shop Description text area.
  3. Type or paste your description.
  4. Click Save Changes in the floating bar at the bottom of the page to apply.

💡 Tip: If you've already written a business description in Business Information, you can reuse or adapt it here. The booking page description and the Business Information description can be the same or slightly different — the booking page version is a great place to be a bit more direct about what customers should expect when they arrive to book.

⚠️ Important: The Shop Description is visible to any customer who visits your booking page URL, even if they haven't booked before. Make sure it accurately represents your current offering.

The Google Maps Link field on this same tab lets you add a link directly to your business on Google Maps. When customers click it, they'll be taken to the Google Maps listing for your location — useful for finding directions or confirming your address.

Paste the full Google Maps URL for your business (e.g. https://maps.google.com/?q=your+business).

Saving changes

All changes on the Business Details tab — address, description, and maps link — save together when you click Save Changes in the floating bar.
