Booking tools let your AI agent help customers with reservation or appointment tasks during a call. Depending on your business type, the agent can check availability, create a booking, find an existing booking, modify a booking, or cancel a booking.

Where to manage booking tools

Go to AI Agent → Tools & Integrations → Bookings.

Booking tools are shown only when they apply to the selected location. Restaurant locations and service-based locations use different booking logic, but the customer outcome is similar: the caller can ask about available times and complete booking-related actions by phone.

What booking tools support

For restaurant-style bookings, tools support actions such as:

  • checking table availability
  • creating a booking after a valid time is found
  • checking alternative times for an existing booking
  • modifying a booking
  • cancelling a booking

For service appointments, tools support actions such as:

  • checking appointment availability
  • creating a service booking
  • considering a preferred staff member when the caller asks for one
  • modifying or cancelling an existing booking

The agent should identify the correct booking before modifying or cancelling it. If the caller provides a booking reference, that can help the agent find the right booking.

What customers may be asked for

During booking calls, the agent may need details such as:

  • date or time
  • party size for restaurant bookings
  • service name for service appointments
  • preferred staff member if relevant
  • caller name
  • booking reference for existing bookings

⚠️ Important: Booking tools rely on your current Speako setup. Services, staff availability, table availability, business hours, and booking rules should be kept accurate before you expect the agent to book confidently.

When to disable booking tools

Disable booking tools if you do not want the AI agent to handle bookings by phone, or if your booking setup is not ready yet. Customers can still speak with the agent, but it will not have the same booking actions available.

After changing booking tools, use Save Changes in the bottom banner.

Before saving, review your booking experience from the customer's point of view. If the agent can accept bookings, customers will expect accurate availability and clear confirmations.
