Call forwarding connects your existing business phone line to your AI Agent. When a customer calls your business number, their call is redirected to the AI Agent's number. Speako guides you through the steps, but the actual forwarding configuration happens with your telecom provider โ not inside Speako.
Starting the setup
On the Phone Number page, find the Call Forwarding Setup row and click Setup.
๐ก Note: The Setup button is disabled if no AI Agent phone number has been provisioned yet. Complete onboarding first to get your number assigned.
This opens the Call Forwarding Setup sheet.
What the setup sheet tells you
At the top of the sheet is an important notice:
โ ๏ธ Important: This is NOT a call-forwarding tool. Speako cannot configure call forwarding on your behalf. You must log in to your telecom provider's portal or contact them directly to set up forwarding.
The sheet displays your AI Agent Phone Number in large, easy-to-copy text โ this is the number you'll enter as the forwarding destination with your provider.
Configuring forwarding with your provider
Follow these steps using your telecom provider's interface:
- Log in to your telecom provider's portal or account settings.
- Find the call forwarding or call diversion settings for your business line.
- Enter your AI Agent Phone Number as the forwarding destination.
- Activate forwarding.
The setup sheet includes a link to step-by-step guides for all major Australian telecom providers if you need help navigating your specific carrier's settings.
Confirming in Speako
Once you've activated forwarding with your provider, return to the setup sheet in Speako:
- Check the box: "I have set up call forwarding to the AI Agent Phone Number"
- Click Confirm
The button shows "Saving..." briefly while the change is recorded. After it completes, the status badge on the Phone Number page updates to Forwarding ready (green).
๐ก Tip: Make a test call to your business number after completing these steps to verify that calls are actually reaching your AI Agent.
Undoing a confirmation
If you need to reset the forwarding status โ for example, if you've changed providers or disabled forwarding โ you can Unconfirm from the same sheet. This changes the badge back to Setup required.
