Your AI agent introduces itself by name at the start of every call. Giving it a name makes those interactions feel natural and helps your customers know exactly who — or what — they're speaking with.
Where to set the name
Go to AI Agent → Personality → Agent Identity. You'll see the AI Agent Name card with a single text field. Type the name you want your agent to use.
Common choices are simple, friendly first names like Sofia, Alex, or Emma. There's no rule about what name you pick — just make sure it feels right for your business and the tone you're going for.
How the name is used
Once saved, this name becomes available as the {{ai_agent_name}} variable throughout your greetings. If your initial greeting contains that variable, the agent will speak the name aloud when answering a call.
For example, if your initial greeting reads:
"Hi! I'm {{ai_agent_name}}, your assistant at [Business Name]. How can I help you today?"
…the agent will say "Hi! I'm Sofia, your assistant at…" (or whatever name you've set).
The Agent Identity page shows a live preview of how the name reads in context so you can spot anything that sounds off before saving.
💡 Tip: Short, easy-to-pronounce names work best in spoken conversation. If you change the name, double-check that your greeting scripts still sound natural with the new name.
Saving your changes
The name field is part of the shared Personality settings. After making any change here, a Save your changes? banner appears at the bottom of the screen. Select Save Changes to apply, or Reset to discard and go back to the previous value.
Changes across the Agent Identity, Traits & Style, and Advanced pages all save together — so you can adjust multiple settings across the Personality section before committing.
