Speako groups available voices by gender and shows accent information on each voice card. These options help you choose a voice that fits your brand and is easy for your customers to understand.
Where to review gender options
Go to AI Agent → Voice & Languages → Voice & Languages. In the Primary Voice card, use the tabs at the top of the voice list:
- Female Voices
- Male Voices
Changing tabs only changes what you are viewing. It does not change the active voice until you choose Select on a voice card.
Where accent information appears
Each voice card includes the voice's accent and gender under the voice name. This helps you compare voices quickly without opening a separate settings panel.
The exact accents available depend on the selected primary language and the voices currently available for that language. If a language has fewer available voices, you may see fewer gender or accent options.
⚠️ Important: Do not assume every language has the same number of voices, accents, or gender options. The voice list is filtered by the primary language selected in the Primary Voice card.
How to choose well
Choose a voice based on clarity first. A voice that sounds polished in a short sample may still feel too fast, too formal, or too unfamiliar for your customers. Listen for:
- whether the voice is easy to understand on a phone call
- whether the accent matches your customer base
- whether the tone feels right for your business type
- whether names, services, and menu items are likely to sound natural
If your business serves a local customer base, a familiar accent is often more helpful than the most expressive voice. If you serve tourists or multilingual customers, choose the clearest voice for your primary language and add other languages separately.
Saving your selection
After you choose Select, the voice becomes a pending change. Use the Save your changes? banner to apply it. If you change your mind, choose Reset before saving.
The Current Voice label only reflects the saved voice after your changes are applied.
