Free Trial Overview
When you sign up for Speako, you begin with a free trial period. The trial gives you access to the platform's features with a set number of minutes to test the AI receptionist in action.
What the trial includes
- Trial minutes — a set number of voice minutes are granted at the start of your trial so you can make real test calls.
- Full platform access — you can configure your AI receptionist, set up services, operating hours, and the booking page during the trial.
- Plan preview — your trial is associated with a specific plan tier, so you can experience the features of that plan before activating.
Where to see trial details
Go to Dashboard → Billing. A trial banner is shown at the top of the page when you're in the trial period. It shows:
- How many trial minutes were included in your trial.
- When your trial ends — the specific date the trial expires.
- How many plan minutes you'll receive per cycle once you activate your subscription.
What happens when the trial ends
When your trial period expires:
- The trial banner updates to show the trial has ended.
- If you haven't activated a subscription, features requiring a paid plan may become restricted.
- Your data — bookings, configuration, AI settings — is preserved and will be available when you activate.
Activating your subscription
You can activate your paid subscription at any time during the trial — you don't need to wait for it to expire. Click Activate subscription on the trial banner on the Billing page to start the activation flow.
Activating switches you to a paid subscription immediately. Your billing cycle starts on the day you activate.
Trial minutes vs plan minutes
Trial minutes and plan minutes are separate:
- Trial minutes are a one-time grant for testing purposes.
- Once you activate, your plan's monthly minute allowance begins, separate from any trial minutes.
💡 Tip: Use the trial period to make real test calls to your AI receptionist — especially for booking flows. Testing with actual calls is the best way to catch configuration issues (wrong hours, missing services, unclear greetings) before going live with customers.
⚠️ Important: The trial period has a set end date shown on the Billing page. It does not automatically extend. Plan ahead and activate your subscription before your trial expires if you want continuous service.
