Usage Warnings and Alerts
Speako monitors your voice minute consumption and shows warnings when you're approaching or have reached your limit. These alerts help you act before service is affected.
Where alerts appear
In the dashboard (Billing page): A Usage Warning banner appears on the Billing page when your usage percentage crosses certain thresholds. This banner shows:
- Your exact usage percentage.
- Whether you have extra package minutes available.
- Quick-action buttons to upgrade your plan or buy more minutes.
In the Notification Center: Usage alerts are delivered as notifications in the Usage category. Go to Dashboard → Notifications and filter by the Usage tab to see all usage alerts.
Progress bar colour: The voice minute progress bar on the Billing page changes colour as usage increases:
- Purple: normal usage (0–69%)
- Amber/orange: approaching limit (70–89%)
- Red: at or near limit (90%+)
What triggers a warning
A warning appears when you've used a significant portion of your plan minutes. The exact percentage trigger is determined by the system, but typical warning levels are around 70–75% and again at 90%+.
When plan minutes run out
If usage reaches 100%, the banner changes to say Plan minutes exhausted. If you have extra package minutes, the banner will note this and tell you how many extra minutes remain. The AI continues working off the extra balance.
If both plan and extra minutes are exhausted, the banner escalates and you'll see a prompt to take immediate action.
Taking action from a warning
From the warning banner on the Billing page, you can:
- Click Upgrade plan — takes you to the plan selection page to move to a higher tier with more minutes.
- Click Buy more minutes — opens the top-up package dialog immediately.
Notifications are not real-time
Usage notifications are not sent at the instant you cross a threshold — there may be a short delay. Don't rely solely on notifications; check the Billing page directly if you know it's a busy period.
💡 Tip: Set a weekly calendar reminder to check the Billing page during the first half of each month. If you're already at 50–60% usage in the first two weeks, you'll likely need extra minutes before the cycle ends.
⚠️ Important: Read usage notifications promptly. They appear in your Notification Center under the Usage category. Ignoring them risks the AI going silent when you're at your busiest.
