Bookings in Speako come from different channels depending on how the customer or your team created them. Knowing where a booking came from helps you understand whether it was made by your team, your customer online, or through the AI Agent.
Where bookings can come from
| Source | Who made the booking |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | A team member created or modified the booking directly in the Speako dashboard |
| Online booking page | A customer made a booking through your public booking page |
| AI Agent | A customer called the business's AI Agent number and the AI Agent booked on their behalf |
Dashboard bookings are the most common for team-created reservations and appointments. Online booking page bookings come from customers who used a link or web widget to book themselves.
AI Agent bookings happen when a caller interacts with the AI phone agent and the agent successfully completes a booking on behalf of the customer. This requires the AI booking tools to be enabled and set up.
Why knowing the source helps
Source tells you which channel to look at when investigating a booking problem:
- If a booking is missing, check whether the customer used the booking page and whether that page is connected to the correct location.
- If the AI Agent should be taking bookings but bookings are not appearing, check that the AI booking tools are enabled and the location has active availability.
- If a team member created a booking but it looks wrong, check the dashboard booking history.
Source is a clue, not the full picture
Source does not replace the booking details. Always open the booking and check the customer name, time, location, resource, and status to fully understand what happened.
Source also does not confirm whether a customer notification was sent. That depends on whether the notification option was selected and whether the customer had a usable email or phone number.
๐ก Tip: When helping a customer with a booking question, use the booking reference, time, and location to find the booking โ not just where it came from.
