Keeping customer information accurate helps ensure smooth communication and service. This article explains how to update customer details in Speako.
Accessing Customer Details
- Go to Dashboard > Customers
- Find the customer in the list
- Click on their row or the edit icon to open their profile The customer detail panel opens with two tabs: Details and Bookings.
Editing Basic Information
On the Details tab, you can edit:
Name
- Click the edit icon next to the customer's name
- Update the first name or last name
- Click the checkmark to save or X to cancel When you change a customer's name, Speako records the previous name in their history.
- Click the edit icon next to the email field
- Enter the new email address
- Click the checkmark to save The email must be in a valid format (e.g., [email protected]).
Phone
- Click the edit icon next to the phone field
- Update the phone number
- Click the checkmark to save Phone numbers are validated for correct format.
Notes
- Click the edit icon next to the notes section
- Enter or update the internal notes
- Click the checkmark to save Notes are only visible to your team.
Managing Addresses
Adding an Address
In the customer detail panel, find the address section
Click Add Address
Fill in the address fields:
Street address (required)
City (required)
State (optional)
Postal code (optional)
Country (defaults to Australia)
Address type (home, work, or other)
Click Save
Setting a Primary Address
Toggle the Primary switch next to an address to make it the primary address. Only one address can be primary at a time.
Editing an Address
- Click the edit icon on the address card
- Make your changes
- Click Save
Removing an Address
- Click the delete icon on the address card
- Confirm the deletion
Managing Tags
- Find the tags section in the customer profile
- Click to add or remove tags
- Select tags from the dropdown or search for specific tags
Deactivating a Customer
If a customer is no longer active:
- Open their profile
- Toggle the Active status off
- Confirm the deactivation Deactivated customers are hidden from the default list but remain in the system.
