Once you've created customer tags, you can apply them to organize your customer base. This article shows you how to tag customers in different situations.

Tagging When Adding a Customer

When creating a new customer:

  1. Open the Add Customer form
  2. Find the Customer Tags field
  3. Click to open the tag selector
  4. Select one or more tags
  5. Complete the form and save The customer is created with the selected tags already applied.

Tagging an Existing Customer

To add tags to a customer who's already in your system:

  1. Go to Dashboard > Customers
  2. Find and click on the customer
  3. In the detail panel, locate the Tags section
  4. Click to open the tag selector
  5. Select the tags you want to add
  6. Changes save automatically

Removing Tags

To remove a tag from a customer:

  1. Open the customer's profile
  2. In the tags section, click the X on the tag you want to remove
  3. The tag is removed immediately

Applying Multiple Tags

Customers can have multiple tags. Simply select all relevant tags from the tag selector. For example, a customer might be tagged as:

  • "VIP"
  • "Regular Weekly"
  • "Referral Source"

Creating Tags on the Fly

If you need a new tag while tagging a customer:

  1. Open the tag selector
  2. Type the new tag name
  3. Click the option to create the new tag
  4. The tag is created and immediately applied This lets you expand your tagging system without leaving the customer profile.

Viewing Tagged Customers

In the customer list, tags appear as coloured badges next to each customer's name. This gives you an at-a-glance view of how customers are categorized.
