  • Timezones: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Hobart, Darwin, Lord Howe.
  • Public Holidays: National holidays (New Year's Day, Australia Day, Easter, ANZAC Day, Queen's Birthday, Christmas, Boxing Day) plus state-specific holidays (e.g., Labor Day varies by state, Reconciliation Day in ACT, Recreation Day in TAS).

When you create your Speako account, you select your country, state/region (if applicable), and timezone. This determines:

  • Which local phone number is assigned to your AI agent.
  • The timezone used for scheduling, availability, and booking times.
  • Which public holidays are pre-loaded for your location.

Speako provides local phone numbers so your callers see a familiar, local number. The phone number type varies by country:

Your AI agent is aware of public holidays relevant to your location. This means:

  • The agent knows when your business is likely closed for a holiday.
  • Holiday schedules are automatically factored into availability and booking logic.
  • State/region-specific holidays are supported for Australia and the United Kingdom.

Timezone Support

All scheduling, availability windows, and booking times are handled in your location's local timezone. Speako supports multiple timezones per country, so if you have locations in different regions, each location operates in its own timezone.

Can I have locations in different countries?

Yes. Each location in your Speako account can be in a different supported country with its own phone number, timezone, and holiday calendar.

Will Speako add more countries?

We're actively expanding our country support. If your country isn't listed, please contact us to express interest — it helps us prioritize.

Why does the UK use mobile numbers instead of local landlines?

UK telecommunications regulations require mobile numbers for VoIP-based services. Your callers will still see a UK number.

Are regional holidays included?

Yes, for countries with state/region-level holidays (Australia and the United Kingdom), the holidays specific to your selected state or region are automatically included.

Can I customize the holiday calendar?

Yes. You can add, remove, or modify holidays for your location through the dashboard under your availability settings.
