When you offer a new service, you'll need to add it to Speako. This article walks through creating a new service.
Opening the Add Service Form
- Navigate to Service Management in the sidebar
- Make sure you're on the Services tab
- Click the Add Service button
- The Add Service modal opens
Basic Service Information
Service Name (Required)
Enter a clear, descriptive name:
- "Men's Haircut"
- "60-Minute Swedish Massage"
- "Initial Consultation" This is what customers see when booking.
Duration (Required)
Enter how long the service takes in minutes:
- 30 for a half-hour service
- 60 for one hour
- 90 for ninety minutes Be accurate—this affects booking slot availability.
Price (Required)
Enter the service price:
- Whole numbers: 50
- With decimals: 49.99
- Free services: 0
Description (Optional)
Add details about the service:
- What's included
- What to expect
- Any special notes
Assigning Categories
Select which categories this service belongs to:
- Click the category dropdown
- Select one or more categories
- Or create a new category on the fly Categories help customers find services and keep your menu organized.
Adding Modifiers (Add-ons)
If the service has optional add-ons:
- Look for the modifiers/add-ons section
- Check the add-ons that apply to this service
- Add-ons must be created first in the Add-ons section Not all services need add-ons—this is optional.
Location and Staff Options
When adding a service, you may see options for:
Apply to All Locations
Toggle on to make this service available at all your locations.
Apply to All Staff
Toggle on to assign this service to all staff members who can provide services.
Leave these off if you want to configure per-location or per-staff assignments later.
Creating the Service
Once you've filled in the details:
- Review all information
- Click Add Service (or similar button)
- The service is created and added to your list
- It's now available for bookings
After Creating a Service
You may want to:
- Assign to specific staff — If you didn't apply to all staff
- Add to specific locations — If you have multiple locations
- Create add-ons — If the service needs modifiers
- Verify it appears correctly — Check your booking page
Creating Multiple Services
If you're setting up many services:
- Add them one at a time
- Organize by category as you go
- Configure staff assignments after all services are added
- Review the complete list for accuracy
