When tables are removed from service, you'll need to delete them from Speako. This article explains how to properly remove tables.

Before Removing a Table

Check these items before deleting:

Existing Reservations

  • Are there future bookings at this table?
  • How will you handle them? (Move to another table, cancel)
  • Contact affected customers if needed

Staff Awareness

  • Does your team know the table is being removed?
  • Update floor plans and seating charts
  • Communicate the change

Removing a Table

To delete a table:

  1. Navigate to Tables in the sidebar
  2. Find the table in your list
  3. Click the delete option
  4. Confirm the deletion

What Happens When Deleted

Immediate Effects

  • Table removed from your list
  • No longer available for new bookings
  • Removed from floor plans

Historical Data

  • Past bookings remain in history
  • May show as "deleted table" in records
  • Analytics data preserved

Handling Existing Reservations

If the table has future bookings:

  1. Before deleting: Check upcoming reservations
  2. Reassign: Move bookings to other tables
  3. Or cancel: Contact customers and cancel
  4. Then delete: Remove the table after handling bookings

Temporary Removal

If a table is temporarily out of service:

Option 1: Remove Availability

Instead of deleting:

  • Add date-specific unavailability
  • Table stays in system
  • Restore when ready

Option 2: Mark Capacity as 0

  • Set min and max capacity to 0
  • Table becomes unbookable
  • Easy to restore

Option 3: Delete and Re-add

  • Delete now
  • Add back later
  • Loses table history

Permanent Removal

Delete when:

  • Table is permanently removed
  • Renovating and removing tables
  • Consolidating seating

Removing Multiple Tables

If removing several tables:

  1. Check all for existing bookings first
  2. Handle reservations for all affected tables
  3. Delete one at a time
  4. Verify floor plan updates correctly

Undoing Deletion

Table deletion is typically permanent:

  • Cannot undo the delete
  • You'll need to recreate if needed
  • Historical bookings remain but table is gone

Best Practices

  1. Check bookings first — Don't strand customers
  2. Communicate with team — Everyone should know
  3. Update all systems — Floor plans, seating charts
  4. Consider temporary options — Deletion is permanent

Impact on Your AI Agent

  • AI agent won't offer it for bookings
