Open booking details when you need to confirm what was booked, who the customer is, and which resource is assigned.
The details view is also where you start common actions such as editing, rescheduling, or cancelling a booking.
What booking details can show
Depending on the booking type, the details view can show:
- customer phone
- customer email
- booking status
- booking time
- party size for restaurant bookings
- table and capacity for restaurant bookings
- staff member for service appointments
- service name and price for service appointments
- booking description or notes
If contact information is missing, the details view can show that no contact information is available.
Actions available from details
For active bookings, the details view can show:
- Cancel Booking
- Reschedule
- Edit Booking
Cancelled bookings do not show the same actions. Instead, Speako explains that the booking has been cancelled and cannot be modified.
Edit vs reschedule
Use Edit Booking when the booking already has a selected resource and time and you want a quicker edit flow.
Use Reschedule when you need the full step-by-step booking flow again, especially when changing the time and resource selection needs more careful review.
Customer information while editing
When editing an existing booking, customer information is locked in the form. This prevents you from accidentally changing who the booking belongs to while updating the time or resource.
๐ก Note: If the customer details themselves are wrong, update them from the Customers area โ not through booking rescheduling.
What to check before taking action
Before changing a booking, confirm the booking reference, customer, location, date, time, and resource. This is especially important for multi-location businesses and for customers with more than one booking.
If details look incomplete
Some fields only appear when the booking has that data. For example, a customer email only appears when an email is available, restaurant table details only appear for restaurant bookings, and staff/service details only appear for service appointments.
If important details are missing, check whether the booking was created with incomplete customer information or whether the underlying service, staff, or table setup has changed since the booking was created.
