Copying Settings from an Existing Location
When you create a new location, you have the option to copy settings from one of your existing AI receptionists rather than starting from scratch. This saves time when setting up a second branch that shares similar services, hours, or AI configuration.
When the copy option appears
After clicking New AI receptionist and selecting Copy from existing agent, you'll be asked to choose which existing agent to use as the source. The settings from that agent are then selectively copied to the new location.
What you can copy
During setup, you can choose any combination of the following:
| Option | What it copies |
|---|---|
| Location Info | The source location's address and contact details |
| Services | All services and their settings (service businesses only) |
| Weekly Availability | The weekly operating hours or staff schedule |
| Venue Units (Tables) | Table configurations and zone tags (restaurants only) |
| Booking Page Content | Booking page description and policy text |
| Holiday Schedule | Public holidays and custom closures |
| AI Configuration | Greetings, personality, voice, and knowledge base settings |
You don't have to copy everything — tick only the options that apply to the new location.
Moving staff (service businesses)
When copying from a service business location, you also see an option to Move staff. This reassigns the selected staff members from the original location to the new one. When staff are moved:
- Their default location updates to the new one.
- Their availability schedule is replaced with the new location's schedule.
⚠️ Important: Moving staff is irreversible through this flow. Only move staff if they are physically relocating and will no longer serve bookings at the source location. Staff who work across multiple sites should not be moved — set up their availability manually at each location instead.
What is not copied
- The phone number assigned to the source agent (each location needs its own)
- Any bookings or customer history
- Any files or media specific to the source location's booking page
After copying
Once the location is created, check each copied section to confirm the details are accurate for the new location. For example:
- Update the address and timezone if the new site is in a different city or region.
- Review service pricing in case the new location charges differently.
- Update greetings to reference the correct branch name, if they include location-specific language.
💡 Tip: AI Configuration is the most valuable thing to copy if you want consistent behaviour across all your AI receptionists. Copying it means the new agent starts with the same personality, voice, and knowledge — you only need to adjust location-specific content.
