Creating a New Location

When your business expands or you want to add a separate AI receptionist for a different site or phone line, you can create a new location directly from the AI Receptionists section.

Before you start

  • Make sure you have not reached your plan's location limit. If you have, you'll need to upgrade before proceeding.
  • Have your new location's details ready: name, state/region, timezone, and optionally its address.

Opening the creation flow

  1. Go to AI Receptionists in the dashboard sidebar.
  2. Click the New AI receptionist button in the top-right corner.
  3. A sheet will open with the title Create new AI receptionist.

Step 1: Choose how to set up the new location

You can either:

  • Create from scratch — start with a blank location and configure everything manually.
  • Copy from existing agent — copy settings from one of your existing AI receptionists/locations to speed up setup.

If you're setting up a second branch with similar services, copying is usually the faster option.

Step 2: Basic information

Fill in the following fields:

  • Receptionist name — a name to identify this location in your dashboard (e.g. "CBD Branch" or "Eastside Clinic").
  • State — your region or state; the label may vary based on your country.
  • Timezone — the timezone for this location. This affects how operating hours and booking times are interpreted.

Step 3: Choose your phone number

Select a phone number for the AI receptionist to answer. This is the number customers call to reach this location's AI agent.

When copying from an existing agent

If you chose to copy, you can select which elements to bring across:

  • Location Info
  • Services
  • Weekly Availability
  • Venue Units (tables — restaurants only)
  • Booking Page Content
  • Holiday Schedule
  • AI Configuration

For service businesses, you also have the option to move staff from the source location to the new one. Moving staff updates their default location and replaces their availability schedule with the new location's. This is only appropriate if the staff member is physically relocating — not if they work across both sites.

⚠️ Important: Moving staff is a significant action. It removes their link to the original location and rewrites their availability. Only use this option if the staff member will no longer be serving bookings at the original location.

Step 4: Confirm and create

Review the summary of your choices and click Create location. The new location and its AI receptionist will appear in your AI Receptionists list immediately.

After creating

  • Complete any configuration you didn't copy across: operating hours, services, greetings, knowledge base, etc.
  • Make sure the phone number is active and correctly forwarded.
  • Publish the agent configuration when you're ready for the AI to go live.

💡 Tip: You can mark a location as your active location using the Switch to This Location button on its detail page. The active location is the one currently in context when you navigate pages like Bookings, Services, and Team.
