Service assignments tell Speako which team members can perform which services. For service businesses, this is one of the most important parts of booking setup: customers can only book a service when Speako can match that service to an available team member.
You can assign services while creating a team member or later from the team member's Services tab.
Assign services while adding a team member
In Add Team Member, use the Services section. Speako shows a searchable list of available services.
You can:
- select individual services
- use select all
- use deselect all
- search by service name or description
If no services are available, create services first.
Assign services from a team member profile
Open the team member, then select Services. The page is titled Services Management and shows services currently assigned to that team member.
Use Add Services to open the Assign Services modal. Select the services the person can perform, then choose Assign Services.
Removing services from a team member
In the Services tab, use the delete action on a service card to mark it for removal. Speako shows a floating action bar such as Remove 1 service?. Save to remove the selected services or cancel to reset the changes.
Removing a service from a team member does not delete the service itself. It only means that person is no longer considered a provider for that service.
⚠️ Important: If you remove the only team member assigned to a service, customers may not find appointment times for that service.
What service assignments affect
Service assignments affect:
- dashboard booking availability
- online booking availability
- AI Agent appointment booking
- staff selection for service appointments
Availability also matters. A team member assigned to a service still needs working hours at the relevant location.
Practical setup order
For a clean setup, create services first, then add team members, then assign services, then review working hours. This makes it easier to understand why a customer can or cannot book a specific appointment time.
If you later add a new service, remember to assign it to the right team members. Creating the service alone does not automatically mean every provider can perform it.
