Mark a day off when a team member should not be available on a specific date, even if their weekly hours normally say they work that day.
This is handled through Date-specific hours in the team member's Working Hours tab.
When to mark a day off
Use a day off for date-based exceptions such as:
- annual leave
- sick leave
- public holidays that affect only one provider
- training days
- personal appointments
- a one-off closure for that team member
If the team member is always unavailable on that weekday, update Weekly hours instead.
How to set a day off
Open the team member, then go to Working Hours → This location → Date-specific hours. Select Add override and choose the date or dates the team member should be unavailable.
In the override flow, leave the day without working time slots so it is treated as closed for that team member. Save the change.
The date-specific list will then show the exception alongside other overrides.
Why this matters
A day off prevents that team member from being offered for bookings on the selected date. This affects dashboard booking availability, online booking, and AI Agent booking responses where service-business staff availability is used.
⚠️ Important: Marking one team member off does not close the whole location. Other team members may still be available if they can perform the selected service.
Check service coverage
Before marking a day off, check whether the team member is the only provider for any service. If they are the only provider and no other staff are available, customers may see no appointment times for that service on that date.
If the business should be closed completely, use location-level availability or holiday settings rather than marking each team member off one by one.
Removing a day off
To make the team member available again, return to Date-specific hours, remove or edit the override, and save. Their normal weekly hours can apply again once the date-specific closure is removed.
If customers still cannot book after you remove the day off, check the service assignment and weekly hours next. The day-off override is only one part of the availability calculation.
