The Job Titles page helps you review, sort, edit, and remove role labels used by your team members. Use it when your job-title list is getting messy or when old titles are no longer needed.

Sorting job titles

Speako does not use a manual drag-and-drop order for job titles. Instead, the Job Titles page gives you sort options so you can view the list in the way that is most useful at the moment.

You can sort by:

  • Alphabetical
  • Most staff members
  • Recently added
  • By color

Use Alphabetical when you are looking for a specific title. Use Most staff members when you want to understand which roles are most commonly assigned.

Searching job titles

Use Search job titles to find a title by name. If your team has many titles, search is usually faster than changing the sort order.

Reading title cards

Each title card shows the job title name, colour, how many team members have that title, and a preview of assigned team members when available.

If nobody has the title, the card can show No staff assigned. This is a good signal that the title may no longer be needed.

Editing a job title

Open the job-title card menu to edit the title. The edit sheet is titled Edit Job Title and explains that job titles describe staff roles.

Changing a title updates the label team members use. Use clear names that your whole team understands.

Removing a job title

Open the job-title card menu and choose the delete action. Speako asks you to confirm with Delete Job Title and warns that the action cannot be undone.

⚠️ Important: Deleting a job title does not delete team members. It removes that role label from the job-title list and from team members using it.

Cleanup guidance

Before deleting, check whether the title is assigned to active team members. If it is assigned, decide whether those team members should receive a different title first.

Do not create multiple titles that mean the same thing. For example, Stylist, Hair Stylist, and Senior Hair Stylist may be useful if they represent different roles, but confusing if your team uses them interchangeably.
